MARE Workshops

Our program has changed from years past.  As we listen to the attendees, we change to meet the needs.  One such area is the inclusion of wood gym floor refinishing in the most Green way possible.  Additionally, there will be more  focus on Green initiatives that a  district can  employ.

During the 1 1/2 day basic workshop  will cover  some of the basics, bacteria control, MRSA, as well as best       practices for disease transfer points that are the true focus of Green…our health.

During the  “hands-on training” this year we explore the latest in wood & VCT floor maintenance techniques, carpet programs, modernized restroom sanitization methods.

There will also be a new addition for the last 1/2 day.  Through the Green Clean Institute we will be able to offer an additional certification program to the workshop.     During the two days we will cover information that will be asked during a certification testing.  This certification and testing program carries an additional $100 fee per person wanting to achieve the classification as a Certified Green Clean Technician.  This federally trademarked certification will then be available to that technician to proudly display on all programs that they should be involved in, quite possibly as a part of the districts new Green Awareness Team.

Cleaning for Health is our goal.

Attendees will return to their facilities with new ideas and the formal training needed to use the latest equipment, chemicals and supplies. While our programs are generic, individuals will use systems from around the world. Come see what we mean by….

”Learn more…Earn more”.

In our industry today, most custodians learn either from each other or from individuals who have no more training than they do.We make it possible for participants to learn the basics from professionals who have been in the custodial business. We keep up-to-date on the latest procedures to assist in educating the attendee, thus enabling each to achieve a higher level of health and performance once they return to their facilities.

Our programs extend from the basics to advanced, using many different suppliers of chemicals, equipment, and products. Use our knowledge and resources to build the foundation for a rewarding career in custodial building maintenance. Whether a person is new to the custodial field working in one building, or wanting to be the team leader …we can help.

“Just to say a building is clean does not mean that it is healthy….but if a building is healthy, it is clean”

Here is what is being said about this cutting edge program

Summer 2009….

The custodial workshop that you held here in Maryville this past summer for our area schools was excellent. We are very thankful for the opportunity to provide all of our custodian’s with the most current and up-to-date information at such a reasonable cost, especially in regards to the green cleaning initiative that Missouri is now requiring. Your hands-on approach, along with your energetic presentations left us all wanting more. I am ready to schedule another workshop for next summer now!

Summer 2010…

The Hayti R-II School District had the privilege of hosting a janitorial workshop for several neighboring districts.  Dave Thompson provided the training and it was excellent.  There were several participants who were skeptic in the beginning, but he quickly won them over with his eye-opening demonstration and his high engagement activities.  This was a wonderful professional development for my custodial staff and plan to send others in the future.
